Low Carb Protein Bread Recipe

I developed this Low Carb Protein bread recipe years ago when I was in my zone diet period (currently fasting on the 5:2 diet but we still love this best protein bread recipe).

The bread still has some standard bread flour in it as the goal was to lower the carb intake whilst still having a recipe that tasted like bread rather than cardboard!

Equipment
For this recipe you will need a bread machine (I use a Panasonic which I have had for over 10 years and it’s still going strong!) there is no reason you couldn’t bake it by hand but I haven’t tried that – please let me know if you are successful with that – it would be great to know how it goes!

Ingredients
1.5 tsp dried active yeast
50g (1 & 1/4 cup) Wheat Bran
75g (3/4 cup) Wheat Protein (Gluten)
50g (1/2 cup) Soy Protein Isolate
125g (1 cup) Oat Flour (we grind oats in a food processor)
200g (1 & 3/4 cup) plain white bread flour
1 tsp salt
2 medium eggs
360ml Luke warm water
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp agave syrup

Method

Add the ingredients for the low carb protein bread in the order recommended by the instructions in your bread machine and bake on a basic bread mode.  For my machine that involves putting the dried yeast in first, covering the yeast with all of the dry ingredients and finally adding the wet ingredients – so adding them in the order they are listed above.

I hope you enjoy this Best Low Carb Protein Bread recipe.  Please let me know how you get on.
